Garage 59 wrapped up the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe season in spectacular style in Barcelona, delivering McLaren’s first Endurance Cup outright victory since 2016.

The #58 McLaren of Louis Prette, Dean Macdonald, and Adam Smalley took the chequered flag after three intense hours at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, an especially impressive achievement given that the #58 competes in the Gold Cup class.

The weekend began perfectly for Garage 59, with all three McLarens securing pole position in their respective classes: Pro, Gold, and Silver Cup, and an overall front-row lockout for the team as the #58 and #59 lined up side-by-side.

Dean made a lightning start from the front, immediately taking control of the race with Benji Goethe close behind in the #59 McLaren. Unfortunately, the #59’s promising run ended early due to a starter motor failure during the first pit stop.

In the Silver Cup, James Baldwin also got away well, starting fifth overall and first in the Silver Cup class in the #188 McLaren. He, along with Guilherme Oliveira and Thomas Fleming, delivered a strong performance throughout the race. In the closing laps, Tom was running P2 in class, but heartbreak struck when contact from the #63 Lamborghini on the final lap dropped him to P10.

Meanwhile, in the leading #58 car, Adam delivered a superb middle stint, fighting back to reclaim the lead after the first round of stops. That set the stage for Louis, who took over for the final run to the flag.

Louis’s drive was nothing short of outstanding and he built a commanding 20-second lead by the finish. After enduring his share of bad luck earlier in the season, this time nothing would stand in his way.

As the #58 McLaren crossed the line, it sealed McLaren’s first Endurance Cup victory since 2016 and fittingly, it was once again Garage 59 that delivered it.

“I have no words,” said Prette. “It has been a super tough year for us in Endurance and I think we all deserved better, so to win overall today is amazing. Thanks to the two boys (Macdonald and Smalley) and obviously to Garage 59 because that car was a rocket today!”
