The Champions are crowned đź‘‘
What a way to finish the GT World Challenge Europe season.

With four-time F1 World Champion Max Verstappen joining the grid in Portimao and bringing plenty of new eyes to the championship, GT World Challenge delivered exactly what it does best: a proper GT3 fight from start to finish.
The #59 McLaren was right in the thick of it. Dean Macdonald spent the opening stint in some huge battles before 21-year-old Joseph Loake put on a show in the middle stint, carving his way from P5 to P2 with some outstanding overtaking moves, and taking some big GT racing scalps along the way. Diffuser damage unfortunately halted Jack Hawksworth’s attack in the final stint, with the #59 coming home P6 overall and P4 in Pro Cup.

For the #58 McLaren, the winners of the Overall Gold Cup title, the target was the Gold Cup Endurance title today. Benji Goethe delivered a strong opening stint before Louis Prette moved the car up to P3 in class. Tom Fleming then passed the #998 BMW for P2 and set off after the class-leading #71 Ferrari, but the final step proved just out of reach. A late-race time penalty ultimately dropped the 58 down the order at the flag. It was a big team effort and one hell of a race to close out the season.
