Inception Racing and Garage 59 team up to race Ferrari at 24 Hours of Le Mans

Inception Racing and Garage 59 have teamed up to race a Ferrari 488 GTE at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this summer.

Racing at Le Mans is the pinnacle for sports car and GT teams and for Garage 59 the desire has always been to race at La Sarthe. Most of the team members have competed at Le Mans in the past and now, with GT3 forming the basis of the Le Mans GT class in the future, it is a great opportunity for the team to gain further experience of this great race.

Alexander West made his Le Mans debut in 2020 in an AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE so he is looking forward to racing the Ferrari again. As this is a new car to Garage 59, the team welcomes the support they will receive from the team that knows the Ferrari better than anyone, AF Corse.

“It will be great to go back to Le Mans to race the fantastic Ferrari 488 GTE,” said West. “My thanks to Brendan (Iribe – Inception Racing owner) and also to AF Corse for their expertise and support. I think that together we will make a very strong team.”

Inception Racing Team Manager, Bas Leinders said: “Just as last year Inception Racing secured an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Brendan already committed to the full WEC season, we are excited to join forces with Garage 59 on this project.”

Garage 59 Team Principal, Andrew Kirkaldy said: “We’re very pleased to be racing at Le Mans this summer as this event has been on our wish list for a long time. Thank you to Brendan for the opportunity; we will of course all do our best to go out there and get a top result.”

The full driver line-up will be announced in due course. The 90th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans gets underway at 16:00 CEST on 11 June 2022.
